UN and Silatech discuss ways to protect youth of extremism and terrorism

Mr. Vladimir Voronkov, the Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Office, visited Silatech headquarters in Doha.
Ms. Sabah Al Haidous, CEO of Silatech, discussed with Mr. Voronkov, the steps taken by Silatech to combat terrorism by creating job opportunities and reducing unemployment rate among young people in the Arab region, within the framework of the MoU signed with the UN Office.
During his visit, Mr. Voronkov got to meet with a number of Silatech’s volunteers who led a Fundraising Competition Campaign with the aim to secure job opportunities for refugees and IDPs.  Silatech’s volunteers reiterate their commitment to being part of this noble cause and the importance of support young refugees start a new life by securing decent work and livelihood that would protect them from falling prey to extremist and terrorist groups.
