Skills for Life
Emploi Habilité
Morocco is the most popular tourist destination in all of Africa. Every year, more than 10 million people visit the country, and the hospitality sector needs a growing number of workers to handle the influx.
However, many of these young people lack communication skills and the most basic life skills to get a job. The problem is even worse among those who are high school dropouts.
The solution? A ground-breaking project that teaches young people many of the fundamental skills they need to get a job in the hospitality sector.
I have improved so much-my experience, my behavior, my skills. I don’t know what I would have done without this program. Mohammed Nabti
Together with Morocco’s Ministry of Tourism and the International Youth Foundation, Silatech created Emploi Habilité, a two-year training program, free of charge, that teaches Moroccan youth everything from resolving conflicts and how to interview for a job, to managing emotions and making a positive first impression. So far, over 1600 Moroccan youth have been trained through the program.
Philippe Queriaud, General Manager of the Kenzi Tower Hotel testifies to the quality of Emploi Habilité: “I was really amazed by the quality of training these young people received. For us, they are ideal employees with all the skills our hotel needs.”
