Ms. Sabah Al Haidoos, Chief Executive Officer of Silatech, joined a high-level panel of leading global policy-makers and practitioners, as well as civil society, private sector, and youth voices, to discuss best practices and initiatives that empower young women and men to fulfill their role as protagonists in preventing and countering violent extremism. The event, titled “Youth as Protagonists in Preventing Violent Extremism” and hosted by the Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the UN and the Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund, took place today during the UN’s Counter-Terrorism Week in New York City. The panel offered varying perspectives on how young people understand and work to prevent violent extremism and radicalization that lead to terrorism, through activities based on community and social cohesion.
